Picture Time!

Abel wanted to do some family photos. His mom dislikes taking pictures and so we have very few pictures with her. This was a great opportunity to capture everyone together and include Allie into the mix :) There are a ton of pictures well over 50, but I thought I would include a traditional pic and one of our fun poses. The pictures were taken at the McNay Art Museum..we had a great time taking them! Thanks to Dino for taking all the pictures..he was a lifesaver!

My Emma!!

Isn't she adorable..:) Emma was asked by another modeling agency to take some pictures. These are not the official photos, just snapshots my sister-in-law took in between takes. She ended up being used on the cover of the magazine... The agency said they would get a couple of copies of the magazine to my brother and his wife once it comes out. Emma is cashing in on the opportunities in Korea! I love you Emma!

Time Is Flying By!

Well! This time of year is always busy, so it's been a while since I have posted a blog. I am on vacation for the next couple of weeks, so it should be easier to keep up! We celebrated my sister's 23rd birthday with a day trip to Lockhart, Texas. Cruez Meat Market in Lockhart has the best BBQ and our family has been making the trip for generations. We then had the family over for some cake, ice cream and karaoke...
Then it was off to my cousin Valerie's baby shower. She is expecting a baby girl mid-Decemeber so we had to celebrate in pink style. (Actually going to see a play she is directing tonight).
We also had an election party...complete with our ten gallon hats. I had to force Abel to wear the hat and take the picture. We are the usual busy with alot going on. Amber just recently got glasses, we had both families over for Thanksgiving, took some family pics and we are getting ready to celebrate our third anniversary this Saturday. I will definitely post another blog with all of those pictures...

Mexico Trip

Well Melissa is now a Mrs! Abel and I just returned from a trip to Cancun, Mexico. We were there to celebrate Melissa and Neel's wedding. Melissa has been my best friend for the last 10 1/2 years and we couldn't be more excited for her! She is truly deserving of the immense happiness she has found. Neel is such a great guy and fits in perfectly into our circle of friends. We were honored to be a part of their very special day. Although we will miss having Mel in San Antonio, thank goodness Austin is a short drive! The week was filled with lots of laughs, tears and great memories! Here are just a few of the pics, I will post more later in the week.

Another Busy Weekend

Well, it was another busy weekend! We had Amber back to back since we will be out of town this coming weekend. It was really nice to be able to spend so much time with her in a short period. Our intention was to go to the Children's Magik Theater for a performance of "Dr. Seussical", but I read the schedule wrong and there was no show! We drove all the way downtown to be the only ones standing outside the building. The next show is "The Kid Who Ran For President" starting next week, so I had to make a promise to Amber to go back. No show, but Sonic ice cream treats instead. My mom gave Amber Paula Dean's new cookbook for children along with an apron. She loved it!! and of course wanted to make every recipe this weekend...(thanks mom! ;) ) We managed to squeeze in pretzel sticks (one end is dipped in white chocolate and the other end is dipped in peanut butter chocolate) and monkey bread. Amber made fall treat bags of the pretzel sticks to give out to family. The monkey bread we made today before church and had a non-healthy breakfast of monkey bread and chocolate milk. We loved the monkey bread so much, I think we are going to make it a Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve treat tradition! Amber will be quite the cook! In between all of our kitchen time Abel and Amber managed to carve the pumpkin we picked last weekend at the pumpkin patch. What a great weekend! I can't wait to leave for Mexico on Thursday.....

Sad

I am missing my brother and his family alot today. I talked to my sister-in-law on Wednesday and it just made me miss them even more. I wish Seoul, South Korea wasn't so far away! For me the hardest part is realizing that my neice is quickly changing and growing so fast, and we are missing all of the cute things she is doing. Daylan is at least old enough to remember us and memories, but Emma is still too little. Although the videos and pictures are great, they just aren't the same as being there live. We are and have always been a close family so the distance between us is definitely being felt. The funny thing out of the three kids, my brother was always the home body and never wanted to travel...now he is the one who lives the farthest away! Well the positive is they are living an adventure, enjoying a new culture, and seeing God's beautiful creation on another continent! It could be worse Chris could be in Iraq, but instead God blessed him and put him with his family in a safe zone. Here are some new pics of Emma and Daylan..

Kobe Beef!

I was undecided what to get Abel for his birthday..for a few months now he has talked about trying Kobe beef. He saw a story about it on the travel channel and decided that was something he wanted to add to his "bucket" list. So, Kobe beef it was..I found one restaurant in town that serves it; the KOBE Japanese Steakhouse. Our dinner last night was fantastic! The Kobe was tender and our California roll was yummy. Our waiter, Roland, made the evening more enjoyable by adding a few extra's courtesy of the chef. It was nice to be spend some one on one time together. Our lives are always so busy, we don't often take enough time for just us.

Happy 31st Birthday Babe!
